Have read it to my own 6 year old who also enjoyed it. This book is a very nice addition to my children therapy books library in my private practice.
Thank You I raised my youngsters with this book and now the grandchildren are enjoying it. Still timely and fun.
My granddaughter loved the comics as well as the songs and stories. So much variety and great activities for kids. After 35 years, still has lots that fits for today.
i can't say enough about it. it teaches invaluable lessons for children. when my wife introduced the album to me, i fell in love with it. the 35th anniversary edition - it has survived and flourished and i highly recommend this edition. this book is fantastic. my wife grew up with free to be you and me.
it helped me to have an attitude of self-determination, boldness, respect. it's for girls AND boys. i grew up with a mom who was a real pioneer and ventured beyond what society dictated. it's decent size and filled with lots of great pictures. it's so inexpensive and is a worthwhile read for your children, purchase by libraries and teachers, maybe even some domestic partners. i was glad that she was so bold.
it had so many of the values of the 70s and of original feminism.
Now I have to buy or copy the songs for her so she'll know what the book is about. I just bought this for my niece and was very disappointed to find it only had 4 songs on the CD, even though the book seems to have all of the songs from the original album.
